Amp Models and Tone Character

The suite covers several high-gain voicings. The Vildsint 50W 6L6 is a modern high-gain amp with three channels and two built-in boosts. Softube describes its low end as suited to downtuned guitars.

The Higain 100W 6L6 is a German high-gain design that the developer says is strong in the mids, with distortion that moves from smooth to aggressive. The American Mainstayer 100W has two channels, with the first aimed at crunchy hard rock and the second voiced for high-gain metal. The Marshall JCM800 Lead Series provides a Master Volume control: a high preamp setting with a low master gives a tight overdriven sound, while the opposite setting gives looser, more vintage distortion.
