Bass Amps, Cabinets and DI Sound

The suite includes Bass Standard Line V8, Supernova Parallel Channel 300W and The Cardinal 100W. Bass Standard Line V8 is an all-tube amp built around a quad of 6L6 tubes, which Softube says gives an unexpectedly full sound. Supernova Parallel Channel 300W is a parallel bass amp with predefined EQ modes, a distortion channel and a blend control for the clean DI signal. The Cardinal 100W is modeled on an early 1970s 100W UK valve PA amp and is described as having thick bass, firm mids and clear treble.

The Direct Input DI module is based on the Softube Focusing Equalizer. It has a mid-band tone control, adjustable low cut and high cut, and a tone control that moves from thin to fat.

Cabinet IRs and Tone Shaping

Cabinet captures use impulse responses with moveable microphones, so you can change mic position to shape the cabinet sound. A parametric equalizer is included for additional tone shaping.

The suite also includes presets, so you can load a starting point and adjust the chain from there.

Amp Room: Bass Suite requires the Amp Room platform, a compatible host application that supports VST, VST3, AU or AAX, a Softube account and an iLok account. Softube recommends using the latest iLok License Manager.

Which formats and operating systems are supported?

The product runs on macOS Big Sur 11, Monterey 12 and Ventura 13, and on Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11. Supported plug-in formats are AU, VST, VST3 and AAX, with Softube recommending VST3. TDM, VENUE and RTAS are no longer supported.

Which DAWs has Softube tested with?

Softube officially tests its plug-ins in the most recent versions of Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, Studio One and Reaper. Other 64-bit VST, VST3, AU or AAX hosts should work but are not regularly tested.
