Addictive Drums 2: Soul and R&B Collection – Drum Presets for AD2

The Modern Soul and R&B ADpak is built around a Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple kit. The kick is a 22x16" model, and there are four toms ranging from 10 to 16 inches. For snares, the kit offers a deep 14x6" Longo Solid Ply Cherry for big, fat hits and thick side sticks, and a shallower, high-tuned 14x5" Ludwig Acrolite for tighter, snappier hits.

The cymbal set includes Meinl Byzance hi-hats and cymbals in 15, 18, 20, 21 and 22 inch sizes, plus body percussion. XLN Audio describes the kit as clean and balanced, with drums that sit in a mix without much tuning work.

The Vintage Dry ADpak is recorded at Ingrid Studios, which XLN Audio describes as a studio that has kept its 1970s character. The kit is a 1968 Ludwig Silver Sparkle. For the recording, the kick was muffled with a pillow and felt, newspaper was taped to the snare heads, and felt was pinned to the toms.

The pack was captured with microphones from the 1960s and 1970s, including Coles, Neumann, Sennheiser and Bang & Olufsen, sent through a vintage API console. The MIDIpaks add beats for modern soul and dry songs, so you can sequence grooves with the recorded kits.
