Vintage Kits Recorded at Sound City

Fairfax Vol. 1 is built around a 1970s Gretsch "Stop Sign" six-ply kit. The kit includes a Tama Bell Brass snare that XLN describes as the holy grail of snare drums, along with a Craviotto Custom Shop snare, several Zildjian cymbals and Iveson's toms.

Fairfax Vol. 2 takes a warmer, mellower direction with a 1960s three-ply Gretsch "Round Badge" kit. Its maple and gumwood shells and two vintage Ludwig snares give it a rich, dark character that the developer positions as versatile in a mix.

Rock Drum Grooves in the MIDIpaks

The American Rock and American Indie MIDIpaks add beats to the collection, so you can program or audition drum parts without building them from scratch. They are designed to be played through the Addictive Drums 2 kits, which keeps the sound consistent across your parts.

Because the kits and beats come from the same engine, the collection suits producers who want to sketch a rock arrangement and then refine the sounds with AD2's built-in mixing and shaping tools.
