Addictive Drums 2: Metal Collection – Expansion Packs for Metal Drums

The Metal ADpak centers on an 18-piece kit built from a Ludwig kick, a Gretsch Hammered metal snare, Ludwig Classic Maple toms and Zildjian cymbals. XLN Audio says Ross Robinson selected and tuned the kit for the recording sessions, and the kit was captured in Robinson's Grotto, a drum room with walls and floor covered in stone.

The Studio Prog ADpak takes a different approach, using a DW Collector's Series kit recorded at Decibel Studios in Stockholm. Snares were recorded from above and below, and kicks from the front and rear, with room signals captured on separate stereo microphones.

Each Metal kit includes Trig samples recorded with extra attack and shorter decay. These load into the Xtra slot and can be layered with the kick and snare to add punch.

The presets cover a wide range of sounds, and every individual drum can be adjusted for room noise, overheads, distortion, reverb and attack. The Metal Collection suits producers working in heavy rock and metal who need a ready-made kit with a clear, aggressive character.
