01Overview

The Breaks & Beats Collection bundles four packs built around the Addictive Drums 2 engine. It includes Reel Machines, a set of 1980s drum machine and Simmons kit sounds recorded on analog tape, and Funk, an ADpak based on a Pearl Reference kit. Two MIDIpaks, Reel Machines Beats and Funk'd Up, supply the matching grooves. XLN Audio presents the collection as a starting point for big beat, classic hip hop, electro and drum'n'bass drum production.

Vintage 80s Drum Machine Sounds

Reel Machines is built on five classic 80s drum sources: the Simmons SDS-V, LinnDrum, Roland TR-808, Roland TR-909 and Oberheim DMX. XLN Audio says each instrument was recorded through analog tape machines and includes real room ambience and vintage plate reverb that you can blend in.

The pack includes presets ranging from clean to heavily processed. Each preset can be tweaked inside the Addictive Drums 2 engine, so the same sounds can work for classic electro or for more modern productions.

Pearl Reference Funk Kit and Matching Beats

The Funk ADpak is based on a Pearl Reference kit with 22-inch kick, 14-inch snare, four toms and five cymbals from Paiste, Sabian and LP. XLN Audio states that the kit was recorded in a world-class studio and includes more than 30 mix-ready presets.

The Funk'd Up MIDIpak supplies played beats designed to pair with the kit, giving you groove material as well as sounds.
