Compression, Limiting and De-Essing in One Mastering Tool

The DS1-MK3 brings three processors into one plugin: a de-esser, a compressor and a limiter. The de-esser lets you choose your own filters, adjust frequency, and work in stereo or mid-side mode. Softube describes the compressor as offering variable soft-knee settings for everything from gentle levelling to aggressive compression.

The limiter section includes the original Weiss algorithm along with two newer limiter algorithms. Softube says the second of these is designed for true peak limiting. The plugin also adds a waveform view in its metering.

Running Multiple Instances and Sample Rate Support

Because the DS1-MK3 is a plugin, you can run several instances on different tracks at no extra cost. It supports sample rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192 kHz in mono and stereo, and the developer says it processes at up to 32 bit.

The plugin includes new presets from mastering engineer Bob Katz.
