Vinylistik is aimed at producers who want the feel of 90s crate digging and old school sampling. The kits are built around crunchy, hard-hitting boom bap drums and drum slices, and the library includes cymbals, percussion slices and vinyl effects. Sound, Kits and Sample Processing

The factory library is organized into Bank A through Bank D, with single-category hits for cymbals, percussion slices and VinylFX. BeatSkillz says the samples were processed on hardware vintage samplers and high-end analog preamps and EQs, and with the company's own SampleX plugin.

The included EQ, compressor and reverb are designed for the same old school character. The controls are kept simple, so you can shape a kit without digging through menus.

Workflow, Sequencer and Sample Control

Each of the eight pads has volume, pan, pitch and release controls, plus a side panel with waveform display, start and end trim, reverse, and high-pass and low-pass filters. You can drag your own WAV, AIFF, FLAC or MP3 files onto a pad or pick from the built-in browser. Sample length is limited to 5000 ms.

The 32-step sequencer works in sync with your DAW or internally. Each track can be muted, soloed or cleared, and per-step pitch, note length, velocity, swing, reverb and pan can be edited. Multi-output routing sends each pad to its own DAW channel, and MIDI notes can be assigned to pads with a right-click. Kits and patterns can be saved, and sequences can be exported as MIDI.
