Degradation Algorithms for Vintage and Creative Sounds
The 20 modes split into three groups. Aging modes such as Vinyl, Tape Saturation, Wow, Flutter and Aliasing reproduce the wear of older hardware. Electrical modes such as Dropouts, Stutter, Jitter and Random Pitch add disturbances. A third group imitates unfit equipment, including Broken Speaker, Cheap Filter, Cheap Compressor and Muffle, which sounds like audio heard from outside a club.
UJAM says every algorithm includes original noise for extra realism. Creative tools such as Granular Glitch and Slowed Down, which shifts formants to sound deeper, push the sound further away from realism.
