Turnado's core idea is controlling several parameters with one movement. Each of the five parameters in an effect's edit panel can be tied to the main-screen knob, so a single turn can change multiple settings at once.

Each slot also includes two LFOs or step sequencers and an envelope follower that can modulate any effect parameter. This lets you automate movement without leaving your hands free for other controls.

The developer describes the plugin as capable of real-time remixing and re-interpreting existing material, with effect types that go beyond a conventional multi-effects unit.

Turnado offers two routing options. You can run the signal through the eight slots in series, from bank 1 to 8, or use Dynamic Signal Flow, which follows the order in which effects are activated.

Dragging one effect onto another swaps their positions, which makes it quick to audition how a different order changes the sound. You can also keep an effect such as reverb at the end of a chain regardless of when it is active.

In Dictator Mode, the single fader sets when and how far each knob turns, making it a compact way to perform with all eight effects. Parameters can also be automated or controlled via MIDI.
