01Overview

Effectrix 2 is built around a step-based sequencer that drives its effect chain, so a single input can be rearranged, stuttered, looped or reshaped in rhythmic patterns. The developer describes it as the successor to its earlier real-time audio manipulation tool. Effects, Sequencing and Modulation

The plugin includes 14 effects, among them Looper, Grain, Ring, Vinyl, Spectrum, Tonalizer, Crush, Filter, Phaser, Modulation (Chorus or Flanger), Delay, Reverb and Level. Each effect can be sequenced across 32 steps with swing and dynamic length.

Modulation can be applied per step to any available effect parameter. Available modulators include From To, a step sequencer with a smoothing control, an envelope follower that reacts to input amplitude, LFOs for rhythmic movement, and a Steptrain that is useful for stutter effects when connected to volume. The signal flow between effects can be changed dynamically.

Randomization and Looping

Randomization can target the whole pattern, a single effect track or the effect parameter settings, with three intensity levels ranging from subtle to heavy. A random modulator with tempo and smoothness controls is also included.

Looper A and Looper B offer swing, repeat patterns, and gradual changes to loop pitch or size. Each effect has individual Dry/Wet control, and a global Mix control sets the overall balance.
