Neural Tape Saturation and Character
At the core of TM700 V3 is NCM (Neural Component Modeling), which the developer says was trained on a 2-track tape machine at 96kHz. Rather than relying on mathematical approximations, Tone Empire states the neural models learn the nonlinear behavior and frequency-dependent responses of the original hardware.
The Drive control moves the tape from subtle warmth to heavy saturation. Soft and Hard bias modes give two different saturation characters, and the Old and New tape types offer two distinct tape voicings. Autogain compensates output level as you push harder, and Comp adds independent tape compression.
