Sound Morphing and Signal Chopping
The core of Things – Motor is a sidechain-driven switch controlled by a multi-wave LFO. Smooth LFO shapes produce slow crossfades between two sources, while hard shapes such as square or S&H chop them into rhythmic fragments.
Because the switching rate can be pushed to audio speed, the effect can also produce ring-modulation-like artifacts. Developer AudioThing describes the result as a morphing rotary effect, and the signal chopper and LFO start/stop controls give you options for both subtle movement and aggressive cuts.
