Synthwave Drums V2 Upgrade is the update path for owners of Synthwave Drums V1, developed by BeatSkillz. The V2 library covers styles including Synthwave, Vaporwave, Retro, '80s, Nu-Disco and Boogie. Its drum kits are organized as complete kits and as single category hits such as kick, snare and hats, so producers can browse and start a beat quickly. The release also adds a VCA-style compressor and a 3-band EQ.

Sound Library and Kit Organization

The library contains over 1300 drum sounds grouped into 73 multi drum kits and more than 100 presets. Kits are arranged for quick browsing, and individual hits are sorted by category, so you can pull a single kick or hat without loading a full kit.

The presets are described as already processed, which means they are meant to be loaded and used in a track with minimal setup.

Workflow, Pad Controls and Custom Samples

You can drag and drop your own samples onto any of the 12 pads, and each pad offers its own volume, pitch, pan and release controls. Pads can be reassigned to any MIDI key, and solo and mute are available per pad.

The plugin provides 8 multi-outs, so individual pads can be routed separately in your DAW. You can save and edit your own kits, and a Library Relocate function moves sample content to another drive in one step without reconfiguring your kits.
