CHOOIR is part of UJAM's Symphonic Elements series and focuses on choral sound for film and cinematic music. It provides male, female and boys ensembles with a full range of vowels and consonants. The developer says the choir textures reflect the sound of modern film scoring. Two vocal layers, a Low Choir and a High Choir, can be blended into one ensemble. Choir Styles and Sound Character

CHOOIR includes 70 styles grouped into categories such as Epic, Ethereal and Suspense. The styles range from rhythmic, stomping shouts to majestic swells and sound-designed atmospheres. Holding a key triggers a choral arrangement that moves over the note, so a single key can carry a full passage.

For character, the plugin includes three master effects: Highlighter, Ambience and Widener. The developer says these, together with UJAM's motion and character effects, can shift the sound from a large cathedral setting to a more synthetic, flute-like pad.

Layers, Voice Groups and Workflow

The plugin divides voices into Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Alto and Soprano groups. The Low Choir covers male basses, baritones and tenors, while the High Choir handles female altos, sopranos and boys' voices. Each layer can be shaped on its own with the Character and Motion FX.

The Crossfade control blends the two layers, and the Finisher section adds the final polish. Articulations run from ethereal to percussive, which lets you match the choir to the mood of a scene.
