SILK 2 adds a smart chord engine that turns basic chords or notes into guitar performances. The new Instrument mode lets you play individual notes and articulations directly, while the picking and strumming styles give you ready-made rhythmic patterns.

The Open Chords feature is new in this version and is aimed at voicings that suit the nylon-string sound. Together, these options cover both quick sketching and more hands-on playing.

Sound shaping, effects and mix controls

The Mix and Character controls let you shape the guitar sound, with five mixes and four characters to choose from. UJAM says the guitar was recorded with several microphone setups to give you different tonal options.

The plugin also includes 40 stomp box emulations and 75 Finisher FX modes for adding effects to your guitar tracks.

What formats and operating systems does SILK 2 support?

SILK 2 is available in VST3, VST2, AU and AAX formats. It runs on Windows 10 and 11 and on macOS Catalina (10.15) through macOS Sonoma (14). All plugin formats are 64-bit only.

What do I need to run SILK 2?

UJAM lists a minimum of 8GB of RAM, 7.1GB of free disk space, a 1280x768 display and an internet connection. UJAM recommends an SSD if you move the .blob file to an external drive to avoid dropouts.
