01Overview

Super*Saw is built around the stacked sawtooth technique, a method for producing wide, dense and harmonically rich sounds. Instead of building multi-layer stacks by hand, the instrument condenses that approach into one playable synth. Its controls focus on performance, so you can move between harmony, tension and tonal variation as you play. The plugin is available in VST3, AU and AAX formats for Windows and macOS.

03In depth

Stacked sawtooth sound design

Super*Saw uses dual 8-voice sawtooth oscillators, so each note can be thickened with many detuned voices without setting up separate layers. Voice offset and per-voice glide controls add motion and stereo depth.

The 4-corner Morpher is the main performance tool. It interpolates between four sound states in real time, so a single gesture can shift a pad into a lead or a bright, dense stack into something darker.

Harmony tools and built-in effects

Quantize, chord and scale tools keep harmonic movement usable, which helps when exploring unfamiliar sounds. The synth offers mono and poly modes for leads, bass, stacks and chords.

Built-in chorus, delay and reverb, along with LPF, BPF and HPF filtering, let sounds sit in a mix with less external processing. Native Instruments provides a modulation system aimed at fast results.
