SubCulture: Pitch-Tracking Bass Enhancer Effect Plugin by Baby Audio

SubCulture combines three pitch-adaptive engines. Sub Layer blends in a subharmonic layer of the input up to two octaves below or above the original, with adjustable settings. Root Boost is a pitch-tracking EQ that follows the fundamental frequency of each note to emphasize its key frequency area. Resonance is a tuned parallel filter network modeled on a classic analog design, adding warmth and harmonics while accentuating the tracked pitch.

Each engine can be dialed in independently at any octave, so the effect follows your bass notes as they change.

After the three engines, the signal can pass through analog-modeled saturation and compression for harmonics, punch and glue. The mix section balances low-end frequency distribution and provides global high-pass filtering and bass mono conversion.

The gear icons on each module open deeper tweaking options, and tooltips can be enabled from the settings menu. Pitch tracking can be calibrated with the tuning fork beside the global gear icon. For polyphonic material such as a master bus, the developer recommends using the MIDI feature to control pitch via MIDI input, since the plugin tracks monophonic signals.
