Compression Controls and Sound Shaping

Each compression stage includes the standard controls: Output for make-up gain, Threshold, Compression ratio, Attack and Release. McDSP also includes non-standard Knee and Bite controls, which change how the compression curve articulates the signal.

Multiple peak detection circuit types are available, giving access to detection behaviors that previously required owning several different compressors. Compression curve modeling and analog saturation modeling add further character to the processing.

Routing, Metering and Linking

The main draw of SPC2000 is the routing. Stages can be combined in serial and parallel arrangements, and the multi-compressor control linking lets you adjust several stages together.

Real time analyzers are included to show what the compressors are doing as you adjust the settings. Zero latency algorithms and double precision processing are part of the design.
