Portal: Granular Effects Plugin by Output

Granular effects often sound chaotic or abstract. Output positions Portal differently, saying its engine keeps the character of the original input while reshaping it into new textures. That makes it useful when you want a sound to change over time without losing its identity.

The Time Stretch section slows and stretches audio. You can sync the result to your project tempo for rhythmic movement, or leave it unsynced for a looser, more experimental result. The Humanize control adds natural variation to envelopes, which helps reduce repetition in sustained or looped material.

Pitch Shift changes pitch without altering length or timing. Locking it to a scale keeps the pitch movement harmonically consistent.

The Advanced page exposes grain controls, modulation and the built-in effects. Seven FX are included, along with a master compressor and filter. A value readout panel shows the exact setting of each control, and built-in tool tips explain parameters directly on the Advanced page.

The circular visualizer reflects the granular parameters as you adjust them, which makes it easier to see how changes affect the output. You can mark presets as favorites in the Presets menu to keep your most-used starting points close at hand.
