01Overview

Panorama Whitekirk is built around guitar recordings made inside St Mary's church in Whitekirk, Scotland. Two guitars were captured in stereo through two guitar amps and a large effects pedalboard, covering clean tones, fuzz and granular textures. The instrument includes two room mixes that you can blend in real time, a listener position you can drag across a plan of the church, and a custom effects section. It runs in Kontakt and is supported by the free Kontakt Player.

Church Room Sounds and Real-Time Blending

The recordings were made with a series of microphones set along the central nave, producing two stereo room mixes. Sonora Cinematic describes one as warm and tight, drawn from the curved wooden roof area, and the other as larger and more organic, drawn from the older stone section of the building.

A modwheel crossfades between the two mixes in real time, so you can move from a focused sound to a wider, more open space within a single performance or automation lane.

Listener Position, Effects and Presets

The GUI includes a visual plan of the church. Dragging the listener position toward the nave gives a tighter sound, and moving it toward the chancel increases the size of the reverb. The developer says this simulates walking through the space while you play.

The custom effects section includes a Plate reverb fine-tuned for this library, plus two atmospheric effects: Pink, a slowly modulated reverb with granular-like processing, and Blue, a shimmery, diffused ambience with a long tail. The pedalboard effects from the recording session are also included as ready-to-use combinations. The library ships with 35 presets.
