01Overview

Aria Vocalscapes is aimed at producers working in ambient, cinematic and experimental music. Its vocal patches cover traditional sung articulations as well as heavily processed material. The included sounds were sampled from a classically trained soprano, and the instrument runs inside Kontakt, so it fits into an existing Kontakt setup without extra hardware.

Vocal sound sources and the Aria Engine

Aria Vocalscapes offers 16 sampled sound sources, including a T-style semi-hollow guitar, electric basses, synth layers and a series of playable ambient patches. The vocal articulations range from sung sounds to processed textures. Two articulation slots can be combined and controlled with an integrated XY pad.

The Aria Engine handles modulation, expressive effects and sample manipulation. It can also be used with your own imported samples, which makes the instrument useful as a sound design tool beyond the included library.

Presets, modulation and effects for scoring

The instrument includes 41 presets in six categories: Atmospheres & Pads, Bass, Dark T, Keys, Lead and Motions. Each layer has its own LFO, and two step sequencers can drive the filters, which adds rhythmic movement to sustained sounds.

Three effects slots and an FX panel that changes with the selected effect let you shape the sound further. You can also record your own XY motions, save them as presets and adjust their playback speed.
