01Overview

Oracle 2 is a re-imagining of the earlier Oracle - Ambient Guitars library. Iamlamprey built it on a more powerful engine with a new soundset drawn from sounds in previous Iamlamprey libraries. The instrument focuses on textures that feel open, lush and reverberant, from picked electric and acoustic guitar to harmonics and processed pads. It runs inside Kontakt and needs the full version of the software.

Sound Banks and the XY Pad Blend

Oracle 2 offers 18 selectable sound banks, including picked electric guitar, bass, acoustic, harmonics and a range of processed pads. You can load up to two banks at once and morph between them with the XY Pad.

The Y-axis can also route effects, so the blend and the processing move together. ADSR envelopes and sample start positions can be adjusted to shape how each bank responds.

Presets, Randomization and Movement

The instrument includes 40 hand-crafted presets as starting points. The Random Pluck and Random Pad buttons generate new patches with settings suited to each sound type, and the effects page has its own randomize button.

A Chaos slider adds random movement to the XY Pad, so the sound keeps morphing while you adjust other controls. The interface is automatable within your host.
