Novachord and Solovox sound and character
The Novachord is built around 32 polyphonic voices that are synthesized rather than sampled. Its tone passes through three resonant band-pass filters tuned to low, mid and high ranges, and Deep Tone and Brilliant Tone settings shape the generator signal before it is summed into a composite tone. An attack knob offers seven envelope options from slow to fast, and a depth-controlled vibrato offers two versions: Vibrato I, used in the earliest Novachord models, and Vibrato II, used in later ones.
The Solovox is a monophonic emulation of the keyboard attachment. Its Bass, Tenor, Contralto and Soprano switches set the note range in octaves, and two bandpass filters, First Voice and Second Voice, have level controls and fixed center frequencies of 400 Hz and 800 Hz.
