Sound and Character of the Lowdown Bass Synth
Lowdown uses dual oscillators with Saw and Square waveforms and a throaty 24dB/octave lowpass filter with Cutoff, Emphasis and Contour controls. The developer says the original design used Hz/oct oscillator scaling, which keeps oscillator detuning consistent across the keyboard. Cherry Audio describes the result as a fat, deep bass tone.
The synth is not limited to bass parts. Using the filter and oscillator controls, you can move from deep low end to higher lead sounds.
