MS Vintage Bundle is an expansion for Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular. It includes five modules: the VCO-20 and Poly VCO-20 dual oscillators, the VCF-20 filter, the Poly VCF-20 filter and the ESP-20 processor. Sound and Character of the MS-20-Inspired Modules

The bundle focuses on the gritty, screaming voice associated with a famous 1970s Japanese synthesizer. The VCO-20 provides lo-fi oscillator waveforms and a ring modulator effect, and it includes a polyphonic Linear Freq CV input for audio-rate frequency modulation.

The Poly VCO-20 and Poly VCF-20 bring these tones into polyphonic playing. The VCF-20 is a dual highpass and lowpass filter that can run in series, as two independent filters, or in mixed configurations, with extensive CV inputs for parameter control. Cherry Audio says it compared the VCF-20 with an original instrument's filter and describes the result as authentic.

ESP-20 External Signal Processor and Workflow

The ESP-20 recreates the external signal processor section of the original synthesizer. Its frequency-to-voltage converter analyzes incoming audio and generates voltages that control oscillator pitch and envelope amplitude. You can play Voltage Modular by singing, playing guitar or using any other monophonic source.
