01Overview

MOJO 2: Horn Section covers saxophones, clarinet, flugelhorn, French horn, trombones and trumpets, with each instrument recorded across three mic positions: close, near and room. Vir2 rebuilt the instrument from the ground up with new samples and a version 2.0 update that added simulated muted instruments and new legato options. The instrument is built around True Legato recording, ensemble settings for up to 10 players, and four era presets that shift the sound across several decades of horn recording style.

Horn Sounds and Articulations for Pop, Funk and Big Band

The library includes 17 instruments, among them alto, tenor, baritone and soprano saxes, clarinet, trumpet, piccolo trumpet, flugelhorn, French horn, trombone and bass trombone, with muted versions of several of them.

Each instrument ships with 13 articulations, including sustains, staccato, stabs, bend downs, octave runs, doits, shakes, trills, swells, crescendos and falls. Up to four velocity layers and three round robins add variation to repeated notes.

According to Vir2, the instrument targets Pop, Funk, Jazz and Big Band horn writing.

Ensemble, Mixer and Effects Controls

Ensemble settings let you set 1 to 10 players per instrument, with Auto Divisi mode for more realistic section performances. The Mixer page gives separate control over the close, near and room mic positions, plus a processed Full Mix option that reduces memory load.

The Effects page includes EQ, cabinet, saturation, tape saturator, compressor, limiter, delay and reverb. Key mapping can be customized to change where articulations and release samples are triggered.

The instrument also integrates with Komplete Kontrol and Maschine, so NKS-compatible hardware can control its interface.
