Multi-Band Limiting and Metering
The first stage uses eight bands of active processing rather than traditional crossover-based splitting. McDSP says this gives a superior phase response. Each band has gain and threshold (output ceiling) controls, with shared release and mode settings calibrated to the original ML4000.
A focus mode adds subtle changes in how each band tracks and limits the incoming signal. The Snap function sets multi-band thresholds to the current signal levels in one step. Real-time analyzers and multiple metering sources give visual feedback on what each band is doing.
