Bleed Removal Methods in MDrumCleaner
The Cymbal Killer applies a filter tuned to a drum such as the snare. It cuts the high frequencies where hi-hat and cymbals sit, and opens the high end only when the drum is struck, so the drum keeps most of its character.
The Side-chain Remover works when the bleed source was recorded on its own mic. Have the drummer play hi-hat alone for a few seconds, so the plugin can analyze it in both mics and then remove it from the snare mic. As the first spectral module, it adds latency, so it is better suited to studio use than live use.
The Spectrum Cleaner works in a similar way. The drummer plays one drum for a few seconds, and the plugin learns its frequency profile and removes content that falls outside it.
