Lifeline Wear provides three wear modes, Tape, Vinyl and Cassette, each giving the signal a distinct type of degradation. Within each mode, four noise layers are available: Amp for hiss, Hum for electrical noise, Mechanical for physical movement and whir, and Dust for light artefacts.

An Age control is specific to each mode and adds the saturation and deterioration that build up over time in these formats. Input and output gain controls help you balance the processed signal against the dry sound, and a global bypass makes it easy to compare.

An internal sidechain lets the noise respond to the input audio. Noise can be ducked or triggered by the signal, so the texture moves with the music rather than sitting static under it.

Artefacts and dropouts can run freely or sync to your project tempo. Synced settings can produce rhythmic patterns and subtle gating, which makes the effect usable as a rhythmic element as well as a texture. The interface is resizable and has zero latency.
