String sound and layer design
The instrument uses a four-layer engine in which each layer can hold a violin, viola, cello or synth source. Native Instruments describes the layers as drawn from both classic and experimental performance techniques, including cluster blooms, harmonic flickers and percussive pizzicatos.
Each layer has its own controls for volume, tuning and space. This makes it possible to balance a dense bowed section against a thinner synth layer, or to tune one layer differently from the rest for a more unusual texture.
