01Overview

Korvpressor is designed for general-purpose audio treatment, from individual vocal or instrument tracks to full mixes. Its basic layout stays minimal, with input gain, compression amount and output gain. The developer describes the compression algorithm as designed with transparency in mind. Beyond the core controls, the plugin adds switchable attack and release times, a ratio switch, dry/wet mixing, a maximizer mode and an optional output brickwall limiter.

Sound and Compression Character

Klevgrand presents Korvpressor as a compressor that stays out of the way on most material. Pushing the Squeeze control further moves the processing toward a more pronounced squeezing effect, which can be used for a more obvious, coloured compression character.

The Post EQ section offers a three-band equalizer after the compression stage, so you can shape the tone of the processed signal without adding another plugin. Lookahead can be switched on or off to change how the compressor reacts to transients.

Controls and Workflow

The main controls are Input, Squeeze and Output. Input raises the signal level going into the compressor, Squeeze sets how far the compression works, and Output applies make-up gain after compression.

The added switches cover attack and release timing, ratio and the maximizer mode. The dry/wet mix lets you blend the compressed signal with the original, which is useful for parallel compression. A factory preset library is included as a starting point.
