Sound, Microphones and Moods
The library offers six microphone positions, from intimate close mics to the main, mid-field and surround mics that capture the room. Users can mix these to set how close or spacious the strings sound.
Three moods change the character of the patches. Soft suits detailed, intimate writing, Classic gives a traditional studio orchestral sound, and Epic produces a larger, cinematic result. The user interface color shows which mood is active.
EastWest says the close-miked recordings keep the grit and air of each note, and that the dry, clear sound adapts to many genres.
