Sound, Recording and Ambience
The library was recorded by Prof. Keith O. Johnson, whose recordings form the basis of the sound. Each instrument was captured with close, stage and surround microphones. Close mics give a direct, detailed signal, while stage and surround mics add the sense of the room around the instruments.
Because the room is part of the recording, you can build a mix that sits in a single acoustic space or layer the close and surround positions to shape depth. The developer describes the release trail as a key part of the realism, and it follows note-on velocity automatically.
