Twin Distortion Chambers and Filtering
Heat applies distortion through two chambers. You can load two of ten modeled distortion types, and each chamber has its own drive level. Separate high and low cut filters for each chamber let you shape the distorted signal rather than processing the full bandwidth. You can distort only the mid-range of a synth part, or only the lowest frequencies of a kick drum.
The Input and Output sliders compensate for gain changes caused by the distortion, with up to plus or minus 48dB of attenuation. This makes A/B comparisons more accurate. The central Mix control sets the blend from a conservative amount for light saturation up to a fully processed signal.
