01Overview

GRFX is a granulator effect built for experimental sound design. Its granular engine can break an input into small grains and reshape them into tones, chords, textures and rhythmic patterns. The plugin pairs that engine with a Harmonic Triangle for pitch control, four LFOs for modulation, and an effects rack with two multi-effect inserts and two send effects. It suits producers who want to push a sound far from its source.

Granular Engine and Harmonic Triangle

GRFX can process up to 50 grains at once. Macro and micro controls shape grain properties, and buffer controls handle synchronization and slicing. Many parameters offer synced options, so grain behavior can follow your project tempo.

The Harmonic Triangle is the main pitch tool. It is an interactive panel that sets the probability of grain transposition across three custom pitches. You can select discrete notes or continuous pitch values, which allows microtonal tuning. A chord list helps with quick harmony selection.

Modulation and Effects Routing

Four LFO modulators can be cross-modulated, and a quick modulation mode speeds up setup. A dedicated modulation overview panel shows all routing in one place.

Probability-based routing sends grains either into the multi-effect section or directly to the mixer. The two multi-effect inserts offer eight engines: Filter, Distortion, Delay, EQ, Chorus, Phaser, Bitcrusher and Reverb. The two sends, Delay and Reverb, can run in series or parallel and include route-specific input controls.
