01Overview

Venom is a spectral processing plugin made for sound designers and producers who need more than standard reverb and delay. It captures and accumulates a snapshot of the incoming signal, then reshapes it through a set of spectral operations. The developer describes the results as anything from subtle granular movement to unrecognisable textures. A freeze stage feeds back into the output, so the sound evolves over time, much like the tail of an echo. The plugin ships with factory presets and a tutorial video to help you get started quickly.

Two-Stage Spectral Processing and Sound Character

Venom works in two stages. The first is a freeze stage that captures and accumulates a snapshot of the input and applies effects to it continuously, creating feedback. This makes the output change over time. The second is a direct output stage, where a user-defined spectral operation is applied to the signal.

The developer says the plugin can produce expansive reverbs, harmonic excitement, frozen spectral tones and ambient textures. A real-time frequency display lets you see the spectral content as you shape it.

For finer control, Venom includes user-adjustable parameters for spectral resolution, along with Input, Output and Mix controls.

Seven FX and a Hot-Swappable Chain

The seven effects are Focus, Feaze, Decay, Damping, Mirror, Pitch and Slope. Focus, Feaze, Decay and Damping are aimed at ambient and atmospheric sounds, while Mirror, Pitch and Slope target more experimental spectral transformations. Any combination is possible.

The interface is modular. You drag an individual effect into a position in the chain to set the processing order, and the chain can be rearranged without rebuilding the patch.

The power button bypasses the whole plugin and is smoothed for click-free A/B comparison between the original audio and the processed signal.
