01Overview

EFEKTOR Meloditron is built around harmony generation for single-note lines. It creates two harmony voices from the notes you play, using a choice of 18 scales across a range of keys. Each harmony voice can be panned separately, so the added parts sit in their own positions in the stereo field. The developer describes it as a straightforward plugin with a single screen and no hidden functionality, which makes it quick to set up on a melodic track or a guitar line.

Smart harmony generation and scale control

The Smart Harmonizer mode works from a key you select. Meloditron then generates single-note, diatonic harmonies that match the notes you play, so the added voices stay in the chosen scale. Eighteen scales are available across different keys and harmony types, which covers common major, minor and modal material.

Note tracking is a central part of the design. Kuassa says the plugin tracks each played note precisely, so the harmony follows the phrasing rather than drifting behind it. This is what makes the tool useful for solos and lead lines where timing and pitch need to stay locked.

Stereo width, filtering and sound quality

Each harmony voice has its own pan control, which lets you build a wider stereo image from a single source. A low-pass filter is included to shape the tone of the harmonized output.

The plugin offers up to 8x oversampling, which the developer lists as a way to keep the processed audio clean. The interface is a single screen with all controls visible at once, so you can adjust the harmony, panning and filter without opening menus.
