01Overview

Intimate Textures: NOVO Pack 01 focuses on chamber string textures rather than traditional sustained orchestral lines. It samples three and four player violin, viola and cello ensembles and organizes them into 43 articulations, from sul tasto and sul ponticello to vibrato waves, octave pulses and butterfly tremolo. The library runs on the NOVO engine, which adds a macro control and a CYCLE page for rhythmic and granular playback.

03In depth

Extended String Textures and Articulations

The library covers three sections: violins with 14 articulations, violas with 15 and celli with 14. Alongside traditional techniques such as Sul Pont, Sul Tasto and Sul Pont Spiccato, it includes more unusual options like Droplets, Wavers, Shudders and Overtones.

The recordings were made at Reservoir Studios in NYC. The developer describes the performances as clean and lyrical, with movement and texture in each note.

NOVO Engine Controls and Workflow

The MACRO knob modulates multiple parameters at once, including volume, pan, EQ, envelope and effects, so one control can shape a whole patch. The Texture Designer is built around this macro.

For rhythmic and granular material, the CYCLE page provides dynamic playback for pulses, swells and granular-style pads. The Intuitive Sample Browser and 192 snapshot presets help you start from a finished sound and adjust it. Heavyocity lists 14.2 GB uncompressed, or 9.46 GB on disk with NI lossless compression.
