Collective 2 Upgrade from Version 1 is an upgrade plugin from Tracktion for owners of Tracktion Collective. It is a synth and sample-based instrument with 928 presets in total, including 100 new instruments by sound designer Miclop.
This upgrade is aimed at existing Tracktion Collective owners who want the Collective 2 feature set and library. It combines sample playback with synthesis, including virtual analog oscillators, a 4-operator FM module, filters, LFOs, envelopes and a suite of effects. The Platforms, Beta Maxed and Son of a Beta Maxed expansions are included, adding 256 presets to the library.
Collective 2 pairs a sample playback engine with a synthesis platform. Layer synthesized tones under real-world samples to build textures that feel more alive than either source alone.
The synth section offers virtual analog oscillators, a 4-operator FM module, filters, LFOs and envelopes. Users can load their own samples, tweak the synth, or start from one of the nearly 1,000 presets and shape it from there.
The interface has been redesigned with a refreshed layout and a new Master FX panel for shaping layered sounds. Right-click MIDI Learn is built in, so mapping parameters to a controller takes a few clicks.
The built-in IR loader applies impulse responses per layer or across a whole patch, which is useful for adding room ambience or amp-style character.
