01Overview

Atmosia is a synthesizer instrument from Tracktion, aimed at producers who build textured, ambient sound beds and cinematic pads. Each of its four voices has its own sound source, envelopes, filters and modulation, and the central X/Y pad lets you move smoothly between those sources. Tracktion describes the plugin as a full codebase overhaul with a streamlined interface, an expanded effects engine and a tag-based browser. It ships in VST3 and AU formats and runs on Windows and macOS.

Sound Design Tools for Atmospheric Textures

Each voice includes full ADSR envelopes, dedicated filter envelopes, tremolo (volume) and vibrato (pitch) modulation, and customizable pitch-bend ranges. Keyboard splitting lets you assign different note ranges to individual voices for layering.

The X/Y pad morphs between the four sources. You can record movement paths with a single click and shift them with horizontal and vertical offset controls. A Transit Modulator (LFO) syncs to your DAW tempo and offers sine, triangle, random and custom waveforms, with retrigger, one-shot, ping-pong and free-run modes.

The effects section offers 28 effects, and each of the four send slots and four master slots can host any of them. A ring-modulation filter adds metallic and rhythmic character.

Modulation, Arpeggios and Randomization

Volume, pan, pitch, filter frequency and resonance each have a dedicated LFO, and those LFOs can have their speed modulated by other sources. Six freely assignable Mod LFOs add further routing options, including LFOs that modulate other LFO controls.

The per-voice arpeggiators offer multiple play directions, chord-based playback and a note-trigger probability setting. Randomization is split into independent groups for Voice and Filter, Envelopes, Sends, Effects and Arps, so you can randomize some areas of a patch while keeping others fixed.
