01Overview

Choir - Omnia is built around four independent choir sections that combine male and female singers, letting you shape the ensemble to suit your score. The developer says the sampled voices were captured in detail and created in collaboration with choir curator Strezov Sampling. Playing modes range from quick keyswitch-driven syllable changes to a sequencer-style mode for building complex lines. With over 70 GB of content and 189 presets, it is aimed at composers and producers who need vocal textures for scoring and song production.

Sound, Legato and the Syllabuilder

The instrument uses a Polyphonic True Legato script that tracks melodies and harmonies so that transitions between notes follow voice-leading. Native Instruments says this keeps progressions natural without manual legato editing.

The Syllabuilder engine takes 16 base syllables and transforms them by merging phonemes into new vocalizations. It offers two transform modes, multiple round-robins per syllable, and randomize buttons for generating new syllable sequences.

Workflow, Playing Modes and Sound Shaping

Keys mode uses keyswitches to change syllables on the fly, which suits simple riffs and sketching ideas. Sequence mode lets you build a syllable sequence with note intervals and other parameters, so you can focus on chord shapes and dynamics once it is set.

Controls include individual syllable length, volume and release behavior, plus five mixable microphone positions, stereo spread, EQ and NI reverb presets. Global parameters for legato, round-robins and dynamics shape the overall performance.
