Sound Sources and Character
Excite Audio recorded a wide range of percussion, from the low resonance of djembes and surdos to the sharper attack of bongos and rolling repiniques. Timbales, tantans and talking drums add melodic depth, while shakers, agogos, tambourines and woodblocks supply brightness and texture.
The developer says the recordings used a mix of analog gear and modern production techniques to keep the raw character of the instruments while adding sonic depth. The library also includes less common sounds such as turtle shells, bamboo slit drums and samba whistles.
