Detecting and Rebuilding Drum Hits
Stagecraft Software describes Beat ReBuilder as using audio classification to detect hits such as snare, kick and high hat in a beat. Once the hits are identified, each one becomes a target for your own sounds. You can stack samples over the original transients to thicken a loop, or swap a hit out entirely to change the groove.
The same detection data can be dragged out as MIDI. That makes the plugin useful for building new patterns from an existing loop, or for moving a sampled groove into a separate drum machine where you can edit the notes directly.
