Banjo v3: Kontakt Banjo Instrument by Cinematique Instruments

The banjo was recorded with a five-string instrument that has a mahogany body. Cinematique Instruments played and recorded it in several ways to capture the typical banjo sound, layering each articulation across several velocities and two Round Robin variations.

The developer says that later updates merged the separate patches into one patch with a new interface, so all articulations can be played from a single instrument. Version 3 adds two newly recorded articulations, which the developer describes as improving the earlier version considerably.

Banjo v3 includes recorded strumming sounds and an arpeggiator. The instrument also offers effects and editing options, along with a step sequencer in the interface. These tools let you move from single notes to full rhythmic patterns without leaving the instrument.

Because the instrument runs inside Kontakt, it fits into a standard sampler workflow. Use the strumming and arpeggiator functions to build backing parts, or switch to individual articulations when you need more control over melodic lines.
