Sound, Articulations and Recording
Cinematique Instruments recorded the Lap Harp at a quiet, low volume with three articulations, four round robins and two velocity layers. The articulations use a plectrum, the fleshy side of a thumb, and a piano hammer.
A Schoeps condenser microphone was placed close to the strings to capture a direct and detailed tone. The developer describes the result as having a natural, organic feel, whether played as a solo instrument or as background texture.
