Interval - Les Femmes is a choir instrument built around the voices of three female artists with jazz, pop and experimental backgrounds. Each voice was recorded in regular intimate notes, chanting and breathing articulations, with several variations per articulation. Four sound slots play at once, and an interval engine stacks those voices into harmonies. Voice Sources and Sound Character

The instrument's foundation is its sample set. Cinematique Instruments recorded three vocalists, each with a different musical background, in several articulations: sustained notes, chanting and breathing. Each articulation includes multiple individual variations.

The developer aims for a fragile, intimate vocal colour. Layering several voices produces a rich and bright choir sound, and the articulations let you move between soft background textures and more forceful stacked voicing.

Interval Engine and Workflow

Four sound slots can be played simultaneously. Each slot lets you choose one of the three voices and its variations. Shaping tools include attack and release, high and low adjustments, three delays with adjustable feedback, a reverb and an LFO that runs separately for each slot.

The interval engine spreads the four slots across interval steps. You activate or deactivate intervals by clicking their nodes, and each step has its own volume control. Four interval slots can be reached through keyswitches from C0 to Eb0, or in chain mode, which advances through the intervals with each keystroke.

The instrument ships in two versions: one with natural note length and one that is looped.
