How Air Models Distance and Frequency Response
Air is designed to do more than apply a generic low-pass filter. Sound Particles says the plugin uses scientifically measured frequency response values for air dampening, so the high-frequency loss follows real atmospheric behavior.
A Distance Attenuation parameter controls how the volume drops over distance. You can also view the actual frequency response being applied to the sound, which makes it easier to see what the effect is doing to your signal.
Because the location presets include temperature and humidity, the result changes with the environment you choose, from very dry desert conditions to cold polar air.
