Sound Character and Sample Sources
The pack's samples come from hardware that Peder Mannerfelt recorded and manipulated over years of experimentation. XLN Audio points to clicks and clacks from 8-bit SynthStations, booming basses from 90s synthesizers and a snare from a Korg PS 3200. Kicks are built from the recorded sound of a car door, then run through heavy effects.
XLN Audio highlights sounds made with a late-1960s EMS SYNTHI modular synth. The developer says the instrument's history of use at Russian raves in abandoned factories has shaped its character, and that Mannerfelt's manipulation gives these sounds an unpredictable quality.
