XO Expansion: Oscillations is a preset and sample expansion pack by XLN Audio for the XO drum and beat-building instrument. It provides 65 presets and 162 one-shot drum samples in downtempo and tech house styles.
XO Expansion: Oscillations is built for XO users who want ready-made starting points for beats. The pack draws on Delhia's work in alt-pop electronica and includes drum patterns, bass and vocal textures. Each preset is designed to serve as a base that you can change by swapping sounds from your own XO library or by adding your own samples and grooves. The expansion is editable, so the presets work as a launchpad rather than finished tracks.
XLN Audio describes the pack as eclectic and deep, covering both downtempo and tech house. The developer says the presets range from moody club house beats to softer downbeat material with processed vocal lines.
The content is focused on one-shot drum samples, with 162 of them included alongside 65 presets that arrange them into grooves.
XO Expansions are editable beat and sample packs for XO. Load a groove into XO's built-in sequencer, then replace individual sounds with anything else in your XO library. This makes it practical to turn a preset into a range of variations without starting from scratch.
Because the expansion requires XO, it is best suited to producers who already use that instrument in their workflow.
